Centered in Chelsea, The Foundling’s Manhattan office is home to our services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and offers a space for families to receive counseling, therapy, and mentoring sessions. This location also houses the organization’s business operation teams, The Implementation Support Center, and The Fontana Center for Child Protection.

Queens College

Students involved with The Foundling’s Fostering College Success Initiative have the option to reside in apartment style dormitories while attending classes across CUNY campuses. Participants are supported by College Success Coaches, Tutors, and Career Counselors who are deeply in touch with and trained to respond to the issues that this unique population faces.

Mott Haven Academy

Located in the Mott Haven community of The Bronx, Haven Academy is a public charter school that is open to the general public, but admissions prioritize children whose families are involved in the child welfare system.

Located in a bustling community, our Bronx office includes preventive and social services for the community, and provides activity space for men and women in The Foundling’s developmental disabilities day and community habilitation programs. The Foundling operates residential homes across the Bronx for individuals with developmental disabilities and for teenagers in foster care who are pregnant or have recently given birth.

The Foundling provides residential, community and day services for people with developmental disabilities in all five boroughs of New York City and in Westchester, Rockland, and Orange Counties. Our goal is to help people participate as members of their community by proactively approaching treatment planning, and providing extra support and guidance.

Head Start and Early Head Start

Throughout Puerto Rico we provide high-quality early education and child development services, which promote children’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth for later success in school. The center-based program embeds responsive and effective teacher-child interactions. Services are provided in five municipalities: San Juan, Cataño, Vega Alta, Coamo, and Toa Baja.

If you are interested in learning more about your history or the history of someone in your family, The Foundling’s Records Department can help. We maintain records on all individuals that have passed through The Foundling’s doors, as well as those that resided at St. Agatha Home for Children (which merged with The Foundling in 1977).
