Adults with developmental disabilities often have many overlapping needs. Our comprehensive services and programs provide essential supports while offering the tools for each person to meet their personal goals and reach their full potential.

The Foundling’s programs for people with developmental disabilities reach more than 1000 adults and children every year throughout the New York metropolitan area. Operating in all 5 NYC boroughs and surrounding counties, our programs’ supportive and nurturing environment help the people we support strive toward independence and become thriving members of their communities.

Residential Services

The Foundling offers a variety of residential programs for adults with developmental disabilities so they can live independently with all the supports they need to succeed. Our residences serve people at all levels of independence, ranging from independent apartments to intensive round-the-clock services.

A year-round weekday program that provides adults with community-based social, volunteer, and work-related activities

Specialists work one-on-one with children and adults in their homes to teach daily living skills and maximize their potential for independence

Employment Services

The Foundling’s Employment Services pairs adults with developmental disabilities with a job coach to support them as they learn job skills, gain experience, seek paid employment, and ultimately succeed at work.
