In operation in Staten Island for more than a decade, The Foundling’s Healthy Families program is a free, home visiting program designed to help new and expectant parents meet the challenges of parenting and ensure the healthy development of their children.

Being a new parent can be stressful and overwhelming, and many families, particularly those who are socially or geographically isolated, struggle to provide a supportive environment for their children. The Foundling’s Healthy Families program helps prepare new parents to meet the challenges of parenting and ensure their children’s healthy development. The Healthy Families program promotes child and family health, development, and self-sufficiency through home visiting services that support parents from pregnancy until their child is ready for school. The program is designed to help prevent child abuse and neglect by promoting positive parenting skills and parent-child interaction. Participants are also connected to community resources that help to strengthen their families.
