Families with indicated cases of child abuse and neglect where placement in foster care is imminent require specific supports in order for children to remain safely in the home. The Foundling’s Families Are Stronger Together (FAST) program uses the evidence-based model, Multisystemic Therapy Prevention (MST-PRV), to provide intensive therapy to the entire family.

The Foundling’s Families Are Stronger Together program aims to keep families together, assure that children are safe, prevent abuse and neglect, reduce mental health difficulties experienced by adults and children, and increase natural social supports. By providing treatment to the whole family, FAST engages and motivates youth and their families, resulting in sustainable change that keeps families together. The program operates in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island.

Success Stories

Nyyim Achieves his Lifelong Dream

Nyyim, a young adult in our TFFC Foster Care program, had an interest in the military since the age of 7 - and with the support of The Foundling, he completed his school's ROTC program and became a US Marine this summer! Joseph Alexander, a Foundling staff member who has worked with Nyyim over the past two years, attended his boot camp graduation ceremony. "I was able to witness one of the most amazing young men I’ve ever known accomplish the dream that has carried him through a rather difficult childhood," he shared.
