The New York Foundling launched Camp Felix – a sleepaway camp – to provide the young people we serve with an uplifting summer experience that enables them to bond with their peers, learn new skills, stay active, nurture their creativity and connect with nature.
Since 2006, Camp Felix has provided a transformative summer experience for children ages 9–15 who are current or former participants in The Foundling’s programs. We believe camp is more than a getaway — it’s a character-building journey rooted in community-mindedness, connection, confidence, and respect. Each summer, our campers step outside their daily routines, discover their strengths, and build lifelong skills through adventure, friendship, and intentional social-emotional growth.
At Camp Felix, young people learn they are part of something bigger than themselves. They build authentic relationships with peers and caring adult role models, try new activities in a supportive environment, and grow their self-esteem by taking healthy risks. Our inclusive camp culture welcomes children of all races, ethnicities, religious beliefs, gender identities, and sexual orientations — ensuring every camper feels seen, valued, and encouraged to thrive.
Camp Felix offers children an unforgettable outdoor experience at a stunning 300-acre lakeside Club Getaway campsite in Kent, CT. Nestled among mountains, wildlife, and the tranquility of nature, campers enjoy 1 to 2 weeks in a rustic, adventure-filled environment where every activity is designed to foster growth and self-worth.
Recently accredited by the American Camp Association, Camp Felix has demonstrated its commitment to a safe, nurturing environment by meeting up to 300 rigorous standards for safety, health, and program quality. |
Through intentional character and social-emotional development, Camp Felix helps young people return home with greater confidence, stronger connections, deeper respect for themselves and others, and a lasting sense of belonging that continues well beyond the summer.
