“Sr. Fitzgibbon courageously opened The Foundling is 1869 to rescue abandoned babies, the need of her time; board membership affords me the opportunity to provide careful oversight as we adapt to modern needs.”
Sr. Barnes is a former president of the Sisters of Charity and as such, she has extensive experience in the governance of not-for-profit organizations. In addition to The Foundling, she has also served on the Boards of hospitals, nursing homes, and colleges. Her particular interest as a board member is in the oversight of quality and mission integration. Sr. Carol has an academic background in math and math education and a second master’s degree in pastoral counseling. She has taught at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels.
Junior Board
The Junior Board is a dynamic group of young professionals in their 40s and under dedicated to volunteering their time, talents, and energy to raise critical funds for The Foundling.
An evening in support of The Foundling’s work with NYC children and teens in foster care, hosted by The New York Foundling Junior Board.
