Carly Risom

Junior Board

Carly Risom is a Vice President at H.I.G. Capital, a global private equity firm with $70 billion in assets under management. At H.I.G., Carly is a member of the Portfolio Operations Human Capital team, where she focuses on C-suite recruitment across the firm’s 100+ portfolio companies.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Carly spent two years at Cerberus Capital as a member of the Firm’s Operations & Advisory platform, where she supported leadership needs across Cerberus’ 70+ portfolio companies. During her tenure, she and her team successfully completed various C-suite searches, as well as expanded the Firm’s advisory network to support the diligence needs of the private equity, corporate credit and real estate funds.

Carly began her career in executive recruiting at Spencer Stuart, where she was a member of the Global Consumer practice with a specialty in Retail, Apparel & Luxury Goods. During her tenure, Carly supported more than 65 searches, working closely with stakeholders at both Fortune 100 retailers as well as private equity sponsors.

Carly graduated from Lehigh University, magna cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a double minor in Business and Environmental Studies.

Carly’s commitment to giving back to her community began in high school, where she served as a member of a youth program that supported both local community needs and those of underprivileged neighborhoods across the country. She graduated with over 1,000 hours of community service in 2015. Eager to both give back to the city she has called home since 2019 and also support the integrity of the American foster care system, she joined the Foundling Junior Board in the spring of 2024.
