Family Support Program
The Foundling’s Family Support Program works with the families of young children, ages 0-5, to prevent foster care placement by helping parents improve their skills in three areas: parent-infant/child interaction skills, health care skills, and home safety.
Abuse and neglect of children between the ages of 0-5 can have harmful long-term consequences, and effective treatment is critical. The Foundling’s Family Support Program utilizes the evidence-based model Mobility Mentoring, which works to prevent maltreatment of young children. The program, which operates in all of Manhattan and select neighborhoods of The Bronx, uses home-based therapy. Participants are referred to the program by the Administration of Children’s Services.
