About Shannon

Shannon Ghramm-Smith, Senior Vice President, Child Welfare and Behavioral Health Division, joined The Foundling in 2011 as a Multisystemic Therapy-Substance Abuse therapist in Person In Need of Supervision (PINS) diversion services. In 2015 she was promoted to build and direct a new program implementing Functional Family Therapy Behavioral Health (FFT-BH), an adaptation of Functional Family Therapy serving families of children and young adults with significant behavioral health needs, which has since demonstrated outstanding outcomes. She led an internal pilot examining the viability and scalability of an innovative staff development and retention strategy. She holds a Master’s in Law and Society, Youth Justice from Brunel University, UK and an MSW from Columbia University.
