Volunteer Opportunities for Individuals

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with The Foundling! There are many ways that you can be a part of continuing our mission. The nature of our work and structure of our programs today make it much more difficult to accept individual volunteers as we once did.

Though hands-on volunteering isn’t our greatest need here at The Foundling, there are many ways to help. The most meaningful way you can support our families is by making a monetary donation. Additionally, we’re always looking for volunteers who are willing to host a drive to collect much-needed supplies and necessities, or help out at a special event. A complete list of current volunteer opportunities can be found here.

Interested in interning with The Foundling? Due to federal grants and contracts, we’re only able to accept interns from schools with which we have preexisting relationships. If you’re unsure if your school falls into this category, please check with your internship counselor or coordinator. For more information, please inquire with our Human Resources Department humanresources@nyfoundling.org.

If you have any questions or see something that sounds like a good fit for you, please email volunteer@nyfoundling.org for more information on how to get started.

Another way to help! Having a baby? Congratulations! It’s exciting and fun to celebrate the birth of a baby with a baby shower but some moms having their second and third children feel that they do not need more supplies, clothing or gear. A great solution is to ask guests to bring new baby items for one of the babies in The Foundling’s care instead! This way, you can celebrate your new little one with family and friends, while helping children in need.
