Celebrate Social Work Month! Meet Our Highlighted Social Worker: Dorthe Hall

March is Social Work Month and today we celebrate Dorthe Hall, LMSW, an Interventionist for The Foundling’s Developmental Disabilities Division. Dorthe joined The Foundling in 2015 and has made a lasting impact among her colleagues and the families she serves.  Dorthe visits parents and caregivers in their homes and works with them to address challenges and barriers their children are facing. This program is called Families Offering Care and Unconditional Support (FOCUS) and it is the newest program offered by our Developmental Disabilities Division.

Dorthe believes that the most rewarding part of her job is “when the families see their progress—it’s all about the small wins and Iittle accomplishments that occur because when these details add up, they amount to a huge win—part of my job is to shine a light on how remarkable these achievements are.” It takes a lot of organization, respect for others, and creativity to be a strong social worker and Dorthe encompasses all those traits and more.

Thank you to all our social workers, case planners, and entire staff!

Keep an eye out for next week’s Highlighted Social Worker of the Month!
