Camp Felix 2016 Update!

Camp Felix in Putnam Valley, New York, is well into its second session of the summer, and campers are having a fantastic time!  Their days have been filled with making new friends and enjoying new experiences. From playing field games and swimming all day, to the evening activities where campers have choreographed their own dances and have played dress-up—it’s clear; everyone is having fun! We’ve posted the latest pictures from Camp Felix on Facebook (click here to view the album).

Camp Felix provides a sense of stability and security, which many of our campers so often lack in their lives, and allows them the opportunity to safely take risks to grow and succeed. Kids from New York City’s child welfare system – many of whom have never been in a pool – learn how to swim, and participate in activities that build self-confidence, resilience, and feelings of community.

Tune in next week when campers and staff host Camp Felix’s Open House on August 10. Campers’ families and friends are invited to attend the annual BBQ and talent show. Click here to read about last year’s Open House in an article published by The Journal News. To ensure that children in NYC’s child welfare system continue to enjoy the magic of Camp Felix, sponsor a camper today!
