Dear Friend,

On behalf of our Board of Trustees and staff we are proud to welcome you to The New York Foundling.

For nearly 140 years The Foundling has been saving children, preserving families and building communities. Each year, we touch the lives of more than 13,000 people in the New York City area and in Puerto Rico. Our staff of more than 1,200 committed individuals sees the potential in each child and family, and works tirelessly to help them reach their potential.

The children and families we serve have complex needs, and in many cases, there are no simple answers. They may be plagued by cycles of poverty, neglect, substance abuse, domestic violence -- and hopelessness. Yet, we are committed to helping each and every person face these challenges, advocate for themselves, recognize their own potential, and work toward achieving more than what they could have possibly hoped for themselves.

With compassion, commitment and innovation, The Foundling will continue to evolve to meet the growing needs of the most vulnerable children and families in our society. As one of New York City's oldest, largest and most highly-regarded* private child welfare agencies, we hope to engage you in our work so that we may uphold our mission, to Abandon No One, and inspire others to do the same.

Whether you are considering working at The Foundling, volunteering your time and talents, making an in-kind or financial donation or learning more about us, we hope you will share our commitment to ensuring that every child is raised in a safe, loving home, and has the brightest future we can give them.

We look forward to hearing from you.
