Support Troubled Youth in Foster Care with Evidence-based Programming
The Foundling is facing a budget shortfall in implementing an essential program that will reduce foster home disruptions for youth in care, reduce agency and tax-payer expenditures and improve the behavioral and mental health outcomes for some of the most severely disturbed youth in the New York City foster care system. The Foundling has already begun implementing what’s known as Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care, a national, evidence-supported model that has been proven to directly and positively impact youth through a multi-pronged and holistic treatment approach. Donations will help cover essential staff training, consultation and technical assistance costs. Once established, the program will be sustained with funds from the Administration for Children’s Services. Thus, start-up funds will have a lasting impact on New York City’s youth for many years after the funds are dispersed.
