Become a Foundling Daycare Provider
New York Foundling developed the city's first family-based daycare program. We currently have over 400 children placed in government subsidized Family Day Care programs run out of homes. Each home may care for 2 to 8 children during the day while parents are working or in school. Our daycare programs help low-income parents achieve financial independence and peace of mind by providing childcare in a family setting in local communities.
To become a Family Daycare Provider with the New York Foundling, apply to the Department of Health and make an appointment for its orientation. Complete the Department of Health application and get approval and "registered" home status. When approved by the Department of Health, apply to New York Foundling's Family Day Care Program by calling (718) 378-0500. Your application will be placed on a waiting list while a Foundling worker visits and assesses your home. The program director will review your application and if you qualify, you will be approved as a Foundling Day Care provider. Up to eight children are placed in each regularly monitored home and day care providers are expected to help children develop age-appropriate skills.
