Foster Boarding Home Care"I'm proud that The Foundling has scored among the highest in the most recent evaluations of New York City Foster Boarding Home Programs."— BILL BACCAGLINI, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR New Doors Open When Others Close In situations where Preventive Services are not sufficient to stop abuse and neglect, children are removed from their own families and temporarily placed in loving foster boarding homes, while we continue to work with the birth parents. The New York Foundling concentrates on teaching parenting skills and supporting these parents with the hope they can be reunited with their children. Foster parents are recruited through extensive community outreach programs, and undergo rigorous screening and training prior to having a child placed in their home.
