The New York Foundling Family Day Care staff is passionate about assisting clients in finding high-quality child care, referrals and other information to promote their well being and improve the quality of their lives.
More than 75 providers, some of whom have been with The Foundling for decades, open their homes to children in the community, so that they may have a safe, supportive place in which to grow and learn while their parents and caregivers may work and provide for their families.

The Foundling's Family Day Care providers are registered with The New York Foundling's Family Day Care program. They must operate in compliance with all regulations to ensure the safety and health of the children in their care. These regulations dictate the appropriate number and age range of children in each home, and how well lit and ventilated the rooms used by the children must be.

We evaluate our providers and their homes on an ongoing basis to ensure we are meeting program goals and objectives set forth by ACS. All homes are assessed monthly (at minimum) by professional social workers to ensure the environment is well-maintained, nurturing, and safe and adequate security and emergency procedures are in place.

We support our providers. We offer ongoing professional training for Family Day Care providers and parents and create opportunities for high-quality, meaningful professional development.
